Don't Stay Stuck
Hello beautiful people! Hope you are all doing well and having a good week so far. We've just celebrated Easter and I wanted to encourage you guys with a word that encouraged me. I hope and pray it blesses you. Love you guys!
"Don't stay stuck"! I felt this was what the Lord was saying to me during holy week (the week leading up to Resurrection Sunday). And I thought to myself, how exactly am I stuck?. Where am I stuck?
The revelation didn't come to me until the morning of Easter Sunday and I was like "ohhhhhh". God was saying to me and showing me for all of us that we have freedom. Jesus paid the price, conquered death and walked out of the grave. The same way, because of His sacrifice, we died with Him in our sin and past lives and we rose with Him, without our shackles and into a new life.
Then this verse came to me which is found in 2 Corinthians 5:17. And it says, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" Isn't this amazing! We no longer have to live the way we used to. I listened to a sermon based on the above verse and the analogy used was so simple but effective. He used the example of a jacket. Being new creations in Christ meant we got a brand, new jacket. But what we sometimes do is because we're so used to our old jacket, we try to hold on to it and put it on.
I think that we sometimes downplay, without realising, the power behind the resurrection of Jesus. And I have felt this way before, in the sense, I don't think I fully understood or comprehended just how powerful it was and what it meant to me and us. That same power that conquered the grave lives in us, but what are we doing with it?
So, God is saying to us all to not stay stuck. This doesn't just mean in sin but also in our mindsets as sometimes, our minds can get in the way. You have been given a new life. We have just celebrated that new life. Now let's keep walking in that new life and not compromising to please the world.
Hope this blesses you.
Until next time!
