God is real so let’s be real

Updated: Feb 2, 2022

“People see Jesus in our strength but they encounter Him in our vulnerability”.

Now this may sound weird at first glance but what I mean is through our weaknesses, relatability grows.

We are called to be a light to the world and we make sure and hope that Jesus is seen through our lives.

Last night, my church had our second encounter night and yes, God’s presence was there. But it was heightened when it came to prayer time and seeing everyone praying for one another and sharing testimonies and being real, I believe was part of the encounter.

Through our weaknesses is one way we share Jesus. It lets the other person know that you are still human but Jesus turned your life around.

So:

1. Do not downplay your testimony or life situations (you never know who needs to hear it). And, it doesn’t mean that if it isn’t drastic, then it isn’t real. God saved you and that’s a testimony in itself.

2. Don’t be afraid to share it (can’t lie, I’m still growing in this area).

3. It isn’t a sign of weakness; it creates connection

The trials and tests we go through ultimately shows that in our own strength and away from God, we can do nothing. But through Him, we keep our focus on Him and He gives us the strength to go through them because at the end, our faith is stronger.

James 1:2-4 - “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything”.
