Who is it going to be?

“Lord, I’m split in two
Part of me loves the world
And the other loves You
So, what do I do?.......”
If it’s God that I’m after
I just can’t serve two masters.....”
No Gray by Jonathan McReynolds
I remember the first time I heard this song and those above lyrics really convicted me.
I am sure we have all being at the stage where the Holy Spirit points out to you when you’re becoming of the world. We live in a world where “Me, Myself and I” is very potent and there are so many trends we get sucked into.
It says in Romans 12:2 that “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
In this open society, it is so easy for us to slip and there is so much that attracts us to stay on trend that we sometimes forget about God. But as followers of Christ, we need to make known who is the master of our lives. God or society????
“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 NIV
P.S: God wants you and He wants to have a relationship with you but He will not force you as you have to want to have a relationship with Him (all relationships work in a two-way system!)
We unknowingly abuse our relationship with God by using him when we need him and then we go back to living our lives our way. We cannot pick and choose when we want God in our lives. It’s either 100% or not at all.
Today, re-dedicate your life to God. I cut off everything that was holding me back and to be honest, I feel like a new person and that passion has been rekindled again. Additionally, I rest in the reassurance that God is with me on my journey and He is my refuge and source of strength in life. (This a daily choice we need to make and it's not to say we won't struggle, but to remember to always bring it back to God.)
Temptation will arise. The devil will come for you to make you turn your back on God. But as it says in Ephesians 6, stand firm with the armour of God to combat every attack from the devil. We’re living in a time now where fear is being instilled into everyday life and there’s a sense of control lingering in the air.
So:
Stay close to God and his word.
He is about to do what only He is able to do.
Jesus used the word of God to fight the devil- you can too!!
Choose who you will serve and stick to it.
That is why He gave us free will - He wants you to want to draw closer to Him.
Don’t leave it too late.
Stay Blessed!
