"Don't worry, it will all be ok."
Easier said than done. The easiest thing to do when we feel stuck or when everything is going wrong is to worry. We as humans, like to be in control of situations in our lives but there are things that we have no say in.
1 of the few things I used to worry about was the future and how my life would turn out. I have many plans and things I want to see, do etc. I had a vision of how I wanted the future to look like and now, my vision is slightly different because I invited God into it after I got stuck. I felt so lost and distant from God.
I read something quite recently that blew my mind and it was the fact that God never moves away from us. He is and has always there but it is us that turn away and move far away from him. This was my answer. I was trying to control my life and decide my next steps on my own.
I surrendered my plans to God, trusted him to lead me where he wanted me to go and to do what he wanted for me to do. I am so glad I did so because I would have been so far away from Him if I carried on the way I was.
There is something so freeing to just lay your life, your plans, your desires, your WHOLE self at the feet of Jesus. We do not need to do this life ourselves. God wants to journey alongside you, He wants to help you, He wants to have a relationship with you which was made possible again when He sent his son Jesus Christ to die for you.
I urge you to invite Him into your heart and into your life daily. God has a purpose and plan for your life and we know they are plans to "prosper us and not to harm us" (Jeremiah 29:11). Why then would we think our plans are better than God's plan? He knows our future and we know He would not put us into situations that will harm us.
I would be lying if I said that there hasn't been times I have taken back my prayers from God and I know there are many of us that do that. I know that is because we want God to do things in our timing as we are in a hurry. God is outside of time and he does things when it's right. And, He has always been right on time for us. He sees the bigger picture.
We need to practice patience and putting complete trust in God. If we ever get the feeling of "but", rebuke it straightaway because that is the devil and he wants us to doubt God. Let us turn our eyes back on Jesus. (link to song above)
As the above verse says in Matthew 6:25-27, Jesus tells us not to worry about tomorrow or anything else in life. God is the creator of heaven and earth and he provides for his creation. We are part of his creation and he will provide for us as well.
Combatting this will require us to get into the word of God, feeding our spirit daily, spending time with God worshipping and praying, surrounding ourselves with people who will build and encourage us when we start feeling low. We also need to invite him into every decision we make and make sure it is in alignment with His plan.
The song "Here Again" is a prayer in itself. This song invites the presence of God and the Holy Spirit into your environment and into your situations. This song invites God to meet us where we are at as without Him, we can only go so far and it becomes us functioning in our own strength.
Let this challenge us to invite God daily into our lives and plans and practice not worrying daily.
Stay blessed!
