Words: When God Speaks...

God's voice, faithfulness, waiting

Happy Thursday beautiful people! I've actually missed writing this intro. I hope you guys are all well and doing great.

I just wanted to say firstly sorry for the absence. Uni has really been uni these last few months and I had endless essays to write. BUT! I am done and back here with you guys!

Before going any further, I just want to take this moment to thank you guys. Thank you for your support from when Unashamedly launched and the community we have built on this platform and other platforms (on Instagram, YouTube and now TikTok). I appreciate every single one of you and if you're new, welcome to the family! God has amazing plans for our lives and as we stay on this path (which will have ups and downs) walking with Him, He helps us grow and we become more bold to share the good news with those around us.

What's Been Happening

So like I said earlier, I've been swamped with uni work but I recently submitted my dissertation and I feel like I can breathe again! It's been nearly 2 years since Unashamedly Following Christ launched and when I say, it's been a journey, it has been a journey. I would be lying if I said I didn't have moments when I felt so discouraged but God listened to my rants and then reminded of why I started this in the first place. I've had to learn everyday to surrender my plans and constantly reflect on the promises God has given me concerning this platform and other platforms. Which leads me to the encouragement I wanted to bring today.

When God Speaks

God is faithful. During my devotions with God, God kept reminding me with Isaiah 55:8-13 (please read those verses!). God used the example of rain coming down from heaven into the earth and watering the grounds to produce flowers, plants etc, to point out to us as it says in verse 11, "so is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it". When God speaks as this verse says, it goes out into the world and fulfills what He set it out to do. So when God speaks over your life and circumstances (and I had to remind myself of this), believe that what He said will come to pass.

This requires faith and trust me, when it doesn't make sense, it's a little bit hard to have faith because we can't see God working. BUT, even in those moments, I implore you to keep declaring that you believe in God and you believe in His words. Remind yourself of His track record concerning your life but also by reading the bible. You will see times where God was present (He is present all the time) and stepped in.

I recently had an answer to a prayer and I had waited for this answer for 8 years. During those years, my emotions and my faith was like a roller coaster and there were moments when I felt God was not there and that He didn't care. But in hindsight now, I can clearly see that He never left my side and He was protecting me and working throughout those years and now, I realise I needed to grow in my faith in God, in my perspective of God and learning to be content in the midst of hardship and getting on with what God wanted me to do at the time.

So I say all this to say, I don't know what you are waiting for and how long you have been waiting and I know it can be hard to keep the faith but keep going because the enemy wants you to quit and give up. Ask the Lord for His peace and strength to be with you and keep reminding yourself of God's goodness, His promises and His track record in your life. Our God is faithful and He is not a man that He should lie, so If God says It is so, then, It is so.

I hope and pray this serves as an encouragement to you. Also, check out Unashamedly on other platforms through the 'Contact' function. Have a good week and I will see you in the next one.

Love you all!
