Jesus Prayed... For You!

#jesusprayed #john17 #john16

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday peeps and I hope you've had a good week so far. Today's encouragement is short but I believe and I pray it blesses you as you read it. Enjoy! xxx

Jesus Prayed for us

As always, I was left in awe during one of my devotionals and what amazed me was the fact that Jesus prayed to God for us, but specifically about the challenges we would face, our ministry etc. This can be found in John 17. I always knew that Jesus prayed for us and this world but I didn't realise He prayed for us the same way we would pray. Jesus started off praying for those who had accepted His words and believed (the disciples were amongst this category). He was praying regarding the trials they'd face (including us) and how life would be. He prayed for God's protection, for us to be sanctified by God's truth (His word). Then! He prayed for our collective purpose in this world: telling people about Jesus. It says in verse 20-21, "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you sent me".

He Knows

So I say all this to say that God knows and He understands. The fact that He interceded for us about our walk with Him, I believe should propel us to always run to Him instead of away from Him because He understands. So I just want to encourage us all with this reminder that God cares about everything we go through and don't ever fear or feel that God doesn't understand because He does. I leave us all with this question to ask ourselves:

Is God our first resort in life, during good or bad?

I can honestly say that God hasn't always been my go to even though I knew to always go to Him with anything. The Holy Spirit convicted me about this and showed me that I actually didn't think God could help me with absolutely anything, but He can and He wants to. I just want to encourage us as well with the fact that it's a daily choice. The same way as surrendering and repenting isn't a one time thing, is the same way going to God first is a daily choice and in time with discipline, it will become a fibre of your being.

I hope this blesses you and I will see you in the next one. Love you all xx
